Is We Are Fit bankrupt?

A fresh start and our promise to our customers

When Lepidus AS took over We Are Fit in December 2024, we inherited a brand with a complicated past. Our very first priority was to address the situation for the customers who were harmed by the bankruptcy of the previous owner company.

Although we are not legally responsible, we have a moral responsibility to restore trust in the name We Are Fit. That is why we have launched a dedicated program to compensate the affected customers who have contacted us.

Our focus is crystal clear: we will build a new We Are Fit based on honesty, reliability and outstanding service. We cannot change the past, but we are fully committed to creating a better future

Background

On 18 December 2024, Lepidus AS bought the online store and the We Are Fit brand from BodyShapes AS, which was declared bankrupt on 14 September 2022 after a series of lawsuits and media coverage. After the bankruptcy, the online store continued to operate under license from the bankruptcy estate so that the value of the store would be preserved and new owners or buyers could take over operations without interruption. The store was then run by the former owner of BodyShapes AS, but this time under a new company, FitBrands AS, which in turn is owned by the former owner Yvonne Haveland Evensen's holding company, The Agency AS

The problem

The situation now is that we receive a very large number of inquiries in all channels from customers who have not received their items, whether ordered directly or as pre-orders. This has also been a recurring issue in all of the companies. Today the brand has countless bad reviews on various platforms, such as TrustPilot, where at the time of writing we have 1.1 stars from 382 reviews. What most of the bad reviews have in common is exactly the above: people have not received the products they ordered

...but very few negative reviews are about the product itself.

Improvement

This is one of several incentives and motivations we had when we bought and took over the brand. Our wish is to clean up after the previous owner and restore the We Are Fit brand to what it was, and to keep offering products of very high quality. Our reviews will be our yardstick, and we will face them head on where we can.

What now

A solution we would have liked was to collect all previous claims and send them to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet). Unfortunately that was not possible, as they require each person to submit their claim individually. We therefore refer you to the Norwegian Consumer Authority's website to open a case there.
